Our first delay!

What do you get when you combine a backhoe and rain? A big muddy hole and our first delay! It's not really that bad though. The rain has been relatively light so I don't expect much of an overall delay.

I've attached some pics as promised. The first question you might have is what the hell is that wooden ramp siting on the lot. Well, what you see there may very well be the first of its kind. I call it the TRPS420. The Tree Root Protection System that cost us $420. I'm not too thrilled about this thing as it was mandated by the city. In that picture, you will see a tree that is literally inches from the exterior of the neighboring apartment building. That tree, destined for removal by nature in the not-so-distant future, is a hazard, but it is not our tree so we can do nothing about it. One of the city arborist decided that the usual tree protection fence would not be adequate to protect that tree. Why would a hazardous tree need protecting? Good question. This decision was made by someone who had never seen that tree or even been to the site. It makes little sense me, but you can't fight city hall...especially when it has already taken too long to get a permit. The bright side is that the crew put it to good use on day one. It made the perfect table for donuts and blueprints.

Now that's a lot of dirt!! If you need any dirt, email me. I can hook you up.
